This video wasn't 'planned', it was actually a commercial project for my friend Sheila ( http://www.youtube.com/evilsheila ) for her Tech Lab class, and I helped her edit it in After Effects. Since I thought it was so cool I decided to upload it to YouTube. What I did was take the footage, apply some darkening effect to it (brightness and contrast), make a new layer with Trapcode Particular, and use a null object to keyframe the light streak's position.
