When a Government Minister affirmed a few days ago, that there are no poor and no-one goes hungry in Algeria, Yassin proves the contrary with a two-part video. A retired worker tells his story. He has raised 6 children, two of them who are handicapped adults. His pension brings home 80 euros (8000 dinars) per month and he is paid a family allowance of a further 80 euros. The family lives without electricity. He repeats that the only aid he requires is to be connected to the power lines which are visible in the distance. With electricity, he could labour more soil and better nourrish his family. In the second part, he explains how he manages to cultivate fruit and veg on the hard and barren land. He dug a well with his own hands 35 meters deep to get to water. With electricity, he could work miracles... All over the world, the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. Algeria's working class needs independant unions, now!
